Oyster spat and Urchin

We produce two different type of oysters in our hatchery:

- The Flat Oyster (Ostrea edulis) Native Atlantic oyster of our own coast.
- The pacific oyster (Crassotrea gigas) The primary farmed oyster.

Each batch of spat is size graded each week to ensure complete homogeneity of the stocks. Any smaller, slower growers in each batch are rejected and culled.
As a dedicated hatchery, we do not keep any of the spat we produce for growing to market size ourselves, so all of our customers can rest assured that the spat they receive are the best quality available.
We also daily check water temperature and salinity.

All our spat are reared in intensive upwelling systems supplied with filtered and UV sterilised water and fed constantly on hatchery produced phytoplankton.
They are then “hardened off” in outdoor mesocosms before shipment to our customers.

Our technologies, facilities and knowledge able us to grow many other kind of shellfish (scallop, cockle…). For more information contact us.
